Below is an interesting article in the mainstream German press ...
Apparently fracking companies (e.g. Halliburton) have been putting strong pressure on politicians and now the state of North Carolina is planning a law to punish (with imprisonment) anyone who discloses the composition of the chemicals used in fracking operations. This includes doctors and rescue services who might be responding to accidents at a plant.
So how can politicians here in Europe tell us that "fracking is OK" when extraction companies are pushing for these kinds of scandalous measures in the USA? Indeed, this means that the public has neither control of nor information about the poison being pumped into the ground beneath their homes. This defies belief!
