Compliments to Damian Carrington for highlighting the role of Tyre Dust as a major contributor to Micro- (/Nano-) Plastic in the Arctic and the oceans (article 21st. January 2022, The Guardian, link below).
Indeed, here in Germany alone, over 100'000 tonnes of this toxic dust is "emitted" every year!
So the next logical step that we need to take is to dramatically reduce ALL road transport (including trucks and electric vehicles) and move to a more modest, more local and more seasonal economy, served by rail- and public-transport- networks (and by us using our legs!). Better for our health and our sanity ... and for the planet!
So, yes, let's get on and do it!
