Dear Editor,
I read Sabrina Tavernise's piece "One Country, Two Tribes" where you mention the "nationalists" and the "globalists" with globalists having "more in common with their friends in Paris or New York than with their own countrymen". This is true but there is a further facet which needs exploring.
While being against narrow-minded nationalism I am also fervently against globalisation because, while globalists may have friends in Paris, they (i.e. we) also have "wage-slaves" in Bangladesh and in China who toil to produce the "goodies" that we so take for granted.
So, why not bring production back home? Not to make any particular country "great again" but rather to balance up the terms of trade and to provide "normality" both in Detroit and in Dhaka.
