So the UN is urging Spain to ban children from bullfights.
That sounds reasonable and I would support the measure. But somehow we in the West have a very schizophrenic attitude towards violence and death: We praise ourselves on preserving peace in Europe for over 70 years but our drones and our arms-exports kill tens of thousands of people each year. We talk about our "Values" but produce video games and films which contain ever-more blood-thirsty material. And we campaign to stop cruelty to "cuddly" animals (cats, dogs, foxes, donkeys, etc.) but "process" millions of animals each year in industrial meat-production facilities.
In my view, yes, very young children should be protected from unnecessary violence. But maybe at the age of 14 or 15 all children should have to go on a compulsory tour of a meat-rearing facility and an abattoir.
